Spinach

Verdimed is one of the largest grower/producer and exporter of fresh Spanish spinach.

Our farms are mainly located in the province of Murcia, although during the summer months we move our spinach growing activities to other provinces in search of the best climate to ensure the best possible quality.

Spinach is an herbaceous plant in the family Chenopodioideae, native to western Asia. It was introduced into Europe by the end of the Middle Ages, but it did not become popular in the old continent and America until the last century.

The Arabs already knew the health benefits of spinach. Spinach is considered to be one of the most beneficial vegetables to the liver due to the presence of secretin and saponine in its leaves.
