At Verdimed, we have implemented actions in different areas within Corporate Social Responsibility. We are completely committed to improving regarding human and labour rights.
Human rights
Occupational risk prevention
Our goal is to promote a preventive culture within the company as the main strategy. This is why we have developed and implemented a specific training programme for our personnel. We want to promote the safety of the work team through professional training in first aid, training against fire or training for works at height, among other things.
We also take into account the safety of our employees in the field and in the warehouse. That is why we have professional training to teach courses specialised in this sector.
Last but not least, we have also developed and implemented a protocol against harassment and mobbing within the company, based on prevention, detection and immediate action.
Training programmes
At Verdimed, we have created specific training programmes for each area, with the aim of learning new technical contents and new skills. We want to foster and promote refresher courses for our employees and to improve leading, communication and team management skills. We believe that we can achieve this with specialised training.
Workplace health promotion
We look after the health of our team. Therefore, since the first waves of Covid-19, we have tested all of our employees periodically.
Labour regulations
We believe in the benefits of fluent communication with employees
For this purpose, we offer an employee care service through our HR department, so that we can help all our personnel in an organised and personalised manner. We also offer them help with the administrative formalities of public bodies. A smooth communication between employee and employer is beneficial for everybody.
We encourage gender equality plans
At Verdimed, we are completely committed to the implementation of measures that promote equal opportunities between men and women. We have been working since 2012 on plans to foster and promote real and effective equality in all scopes and areas of the company. From personnel selection or promotion to our salary policy, training, labour health and balance between family and work life.
We are aware that our business management needs to be in line with the needs of the society. Therefore, we have renewed our commitment to create the “IV Plan for Equal Opportunities between Men and Women of Verdimed S.A,”. We also have implemented an inclusive language manual and we have several recognitions in this regard, such as the “Distintivo Nacional de Igualdad en la Empresa” (a national recognition for equality in companies) in 2012, “Distintivo de Igualdad en la Región de Murcia” (a recognition for equality in the Region of Murcia) in 2019, “Premio Empresa por la Igualdad” (a prize for equality in companies) granted by OMEP in 2015, among others.
Balance between family and work life
Without balance between family and work life there is no future for companies, we have extended the implementation period for models of balance between family and work life. All our employees can enjoy the security and trust that Verdimed offers them. For example, our plan offers different options that can be included in the working hours, such as a floating schedule, teleworking, the extension of the right to reduce working hours for family reasons an additional year (until the child is 13), flexibility to enjoy the right to breastfeed, schedule flexibility when there are family or personal problems, intensive working hours in the office from June to September, etc.
Complete support to groups at risk of exclusion
Among our work plans we have not forgotten the integration of groups at risk of exclusion. We address the specific needs of immigrants, we promote good practices in diversity management, we make the normal activity of the company compatible with the exercise of the religious beliefs of our personnel, and we are committed to the recruitment and integration of personnel with disabilities in our workforce and with the implementation of internship agreements with interns from different education centres, among other things.
In this line of action, we have received several awards and recognitions, such as the Agroterra 2009 award, and we have signed agreements with organizations such as Aidemar or the Spanish Red Cross.
